ADI Examinations

New legislation in 2008 stated that all existing and new driving instructors must be fully approved by the Road Safety Authority (RSA). In order to achieve the RSA`s approval it is essential to pass a 3 part exam and also pass periodical check tests once qualification has been achieved.

The exams are laid out in the following format:

Part 1 – A theory test which includes questions on the rules of the road, mechanical principles and instruction theory.

Part 2 – An extended driving test that can last up to 75 minutes.

Part 3 – Test of your teaching abilities.

Our experienced instructors here at Colliers School of Motoring provide comprehensive training for all sections of the RSA ADI Examinations. We have successfully trained instructors to gain entrance into the Driving Instructor`s Register of Ireland (DIR). The DIR had a similar exam layout to the current ADI exams and we pride ourselves on our first time pass rate.
