Since 2008 the driving instruction industry in Ireland has become regulated and all new and existing driving instructors must be approved by the Road Safety Authority (RSA).
To qualify driving instructors must pass a three part examination and pass periodical check tests following qualification.
The examination process takes the following format:
Part 1 - A theory test, including questions on rules of the road, mechanical principles and instuction theory.
Part 2 - An extended driving test lasting approximately 75 minutes
Part 3 - Test of ability to teach.
Full details of the above examinations including details of recommended reading material is available on the ADI Section of the Road Safety Authority's website at www.rsa.ie.
Colliers Driving School provides training and courses for all parts of the RSA ADI examination process.
For many years our experienced tutors have successfully trained new instructors for entry to the DIR (Driving Instructor's Register of Ireland) register which had a similar examination format to the current ADI examinations and have an excellent first time pass rate for the current RSA ADI process.
